I have debt with an Amazon.com credit card through GE Money Bank. I got behind on the payments and did not pay anything for a few months.

As I started making money again, I pay the minimum payment amount. I had previous collectors calling several times a day. When I had enough, I told them that I would never pay money to anyone over the phone, like many other Americans I have been going through a rough time and despite that, I'm making the minimum payment to GE Money Bank. I also told them that I didn't believe in the outsourcing of jobs to other countries and based on the three reasons I've stated, I would never pay them anything, ever.

They quit calling. Now I got a letter from Javitch, Block & Rathbone. I am still within the 30 day dipsute period. I can't deny the debt is mine. I can demand no contact at my phone number since it is a company number. But can I legally say that I refuse to deal with a debt collector and that I will continue making the minimum payment to the original debtor until I have paid the debt off. Or is all of this too much information and should I just pay the payment to GE with a letter to them telling them that I will pay them but not a DC?

I would call the bank and see if you can work out a deal with them. It might be a good idea to do some research on these boards before making any other decisions.

Has the debt been charged off by GE Money Bank?

No, I don't believe it's been charged off.
